SUTTON HIGH SCHOOL 

Gordon and I were invited to speak to 6th Form girls at Katie’s old school Sutton High about Katie and the need for carbon monoxide awareness.  We both felt quite emotional walking through the doors of the school, remembering all the happy events we’d attended at Sutton High, the many school plays, prize giving, quiz nights and sports days etc. We spoke about Katie’s life from school to wedding and then the tragic circumstances of the night of18^thFebruary 2010.  We said we were not trying to scare the girls but wanted to emphasise that tragedies like Katie’s could be avoided if carbon burning appliances were regularly serviced and carbon monoxide alarms were installed, and we showed our film ‘Cause for Alarm’ to illustrate this.  We’d like to thank Ms Clark, Director of Pastoral Care at Sutton High, for giving us this opportunity to raise awareness.
