KHMT Cause for Alarm

KHMT Cause for Alarm

On 13th September we had great pleasure in officially releasing the The Katie Haines Memorial Trust’s third carbon monoxide awareness film ‘Cause for Alarm’ at the launch to Gas Safety Week. We are undeniably proud of our first two films but we feel that this new animated film has a modern approach and gives a more positive, simple message. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9RiuL6UWEM

As you will see, the film demonstrates that as long as you take all the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your family from carbon monoxide poisoning, by having your carbon burning appliances maintained and serviced regularly by a registered engineer and audible carbon monoxide alarms installed, the risks from this silent killer are considerably lessened.

The one person who deserves more thanks than anyone for making Cause for Alarm happen is Miki Haines-Sanger, founder of Golden Goose PR, Richard Haines’ cousin and friend of Katie. Miki has been instrumental in making this campaign a great success. Not only did she source and work with Not to Scale, the Anglo American company who made the film, in the many stages of production and liaised with Unruly* (https://unruly.co/) to disseminate the film on a larger scale but Miki also organised a survey with YouGov and did a wonderful job in contacting the media to publicise both the film and the survey. In addition to running her own company and being the mother of two young children, she has devoted a considerable amount of time and effort on this campaign – even during a holiday abroad, and yet has refused all payment. We are very grateful to Miki and her husband Richard Holt (script for film) for all their help.
