At a party to thank founding member of Wokingham Netball Club, Pat Harper, who announced her retirement as a club coach some 40 years after establishing the club’s first  ever team. There was also a special moment for all involved at the club as Wokingham Rubies, who played in the Bracknell league, paid tribute to Katie Haines, who died in tragic circumstances in February this year.

Haines, another Wokingham Times netball correspondent, died from carbon monoxide poisoning at her house in Wokingham, and she received the posthumous player-of-the-season award from her team-mates.
