Coronation Street’s Fiz to suffer Boxing Day carbon monoxide poisoning

Coronation Street‘s Fiz Stape will be left in a critical condition after being poisoned by carbon monoxide on Boxing Day.

Her secret lover Tyrone’s attempts to fix her faulty boiler will end in disaster, actor Alan Halsall has confirmed.

“He’s absolutely devastated,” he told the Radio Times. “He can’t believe he is possibly going to lose yet another person who he loves.
“He thinks he knows what he’s doing because he fixes cars. But, of course, the last thing he should be doing is fixing a boiler. He’s not qualified at all, and it’s such a risky thing to do.

“He feels guilty. She might die and it would be his fault. But he knows that if he comes clean about messing with the boiler, then Kirsty will know he was at the house and the whole affair will be exposed.”

Details of the storyline first emerged back in September, with a report suggesting that Tyrone may face criminal repercussions for illegally carrying out work on the heater.

While Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) is fighting for her life in hospital, Tyrone has to continue spending Christmas with Kirsty. The mechanic is waiting to marry his violent fiancée so he can secure parental rights over his baby daughter Ruby.
