I’m sorry but I learned today of your tragic loss. I would send my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Samuel family and to Katie’s husband. As a childhood friend of the Samuel’s I was simply devastated to learn of this tragedy.

Our paths have gone separate ways in adulthood as I live on the other side of the world to you, however, the fond memories of our friendship will always with me. There are no words that can ever comfort your family on your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. We never know how long each of us have on this earth, but I have learned that every day is a gift to treasure and we must treasure those we love.

Katie reminded me so much of her mother Avril. I once read that grief is a by product of love. Only way not to experience grief is not to love, but love gives richness and meaning and purpose to life. I can see how much love your family shared.
